Avis A. Johnston October 9, 1917 - January 13, 2012 Avis A. Johnston of Waco passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 at Texan Nursing & Rehab Center. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Avis was born October 9, 1917 in Jonesboro, Louisiana to Rufus and Susan Walsworth. Avis was a member of First United Methodist Church in China Spring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus B. Johnston; parents, Rufus and Susan Walsworth; daughter, LaRue Riggs and husband Jerry; and great-great-granddaughter Tierra Raney. She is survived by one daughter, Betty Waller, Waco, TX; four grandchildren, Terry Waller, J.C. Riggs and wife Debbie, Patty Lewis and husband Rickie, and Robin Riggs; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to express appreciation to Bluebonnet Hospice and Texan Nursing and Rehab.
