Barbara A. Perrine, 79, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in Plainfield and a former resident of North Plainfield, Barbara had resided in Neshanic Station since 1970. Ms. Perrine retired as Production Manager from the Challenger Division of the Wayne-Dalton Corporation of Bridgewater, in 1998, where she worked for fifteen years. Barbara was an avid bowler and golfer. She was a member and 53-year President of the Somerset-Hunterdon USBC Women's Bowling Association, Inc., former president of the NJ State WBA, and a life member of the NJ State USBC WBA. Barbara was inducted for Meritorious Service into both, S.H.W.B.A., Inc. Hall of Fame and N.J.S.W.B.A. Hall of Fame; was a 30 year member of the NJS 600 Club; and was a charter member of the Raritan Valley 600 Club. Barbara was the recipient of the Meritorious Service Award from the Metropolitan Bowling Writers and she received Certificates of Appreciation for her 40 years of service as President of Somerset-Hunterdon WBA, Inc. from both, President Clinton and Governor Whitman. Barbara was preceded in death by her, dear parents, Harry R., Sr. and Margaret Anna Meeker Perrine; her three brothers, Charles, Harry, Jr., and Fred Perrine; and a sister, Shirley. Surviving are her long time, dear friend and housemate, Mary Ann Althausen; her dear sister, Phyllis Von Holten of Florida; her niece; several nephews; and her extended family. A Prayer Service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638. Viewing hours are Tuesday evening, January 31, 2012 from 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to Steeplechase Cancer Center, 110 Rehill Ave, Somerville, NJ 08876.
