Barbara (Bebe) Bellinger Platt, 76, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her immediate family on March 30, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bebe was the loving wife of Leonard S. Platt. The daughter of Burdette and Vera Bellinger, Bebe was born in Tampa, FL and later moved to Greenwich, CT where she met her husband and raised their family. Bebe was involved with the Greenwich Junior League and Hortulus. She was an avid painter and was instrumental in helping to establish the Reilly League of Artists in White Plains, NY. Bebe and Len were world travelers living in many places including Cape Town, South Africa and Singapore. She was known for her sense of humor and twinkle in her eye. She will be missed by many dear friends.
Bebe is survived by her husband of 53 years, Leonard S. Platt of Hobe Sound, FL and Melvin Village, NH, her daughter, Pamela of Santa Fe, NM, her son, William and daughter in law, Courtney of Darien, CT as well as 4 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Dan E. Bellinger of Saverna Park, MD.
A memorial service will be April 20, 2011, 4:00pm at Christ Memorial Chapel 52 South Beach Rd, Jupiter Island, FL
