Barbara Jean Burk, 72, of Lubbock went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 2, 2011. She was born June 16, 1938 in Plainview to William and Mary Dee Hamby. She married Edward C. Burk, Sr. on November 1, 1952 at the Skyline Baptist Chapel in Lubbock. She and Edward Owned and operated Caprock Business Machines for 38 years. She was a member of Skyline Baptist Church and the treasurer for 35 years. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother.

Barbara was preceded in death her parents and husband. Survivors include sons, Eddie C. Burk, Jr. and wife, Terry, and Benny Ray Burk and wife, Eddie Jane; daughter, Deborah Jean Houk and husband, Doug; brother, Wayne Hamby; sister, Wanda Flynn; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at Sanders Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Sanders Memorial Chapel.
