Tom and Charles were my neighbors in Belmont and through them I got to know Barbara. I loved knowing them all and considered it a privilege to count them as friends. Barbara was vital and funny and astute, and I will miss her very much indeed. My sincere condolences to her family.

I have in my hand an Easter card from Barbara, a very caring and thoughtful friend. I once remarked on a necklace she was wearing, she took it off and handed it to me...that's how she was. She talked to me about missing her husband and brothers. She is now with them. A great friend!

It is with deep sadness that I learn of Barbara's passing. I met her and her brother Thomas through my work at Boston University in 2004. We soon became friends and they became very close friends of mine. Barbara's charm, wit, astuteness, grace and humor was present in all that she did. It was always pure joy visiting her over the years and learning about her life.

I was saddened to learn of the loss of Barbara. She was one of my dearest friends. I have a lot of fun and fond memories of her.
