Cousin Jane was one of the few persons who thoughtfully telephoned and regularly visited my mother Zelma (Jane's aunt) during her twilight years spent in Fort Wayne, including the time Zelma was a nuring home resident. This meant so much to Mother and to me. Cousin Jane was one of the few persons who thoughtfully telephoned and regularly visited my mother Zelma (Jane's aunt) during her twilight years spent in Fort Wayne, including the time Zelma was a nuring home resident. This meant so much to Mother and to me. Today, I lift up a prayer of thanksgiving for Cousin Jane for her kindnesses. . . and extend to Pat the sincerest of condolences with the assurance and promises of a loving God in whom all things are working together for good in His all-knowing master plan. "Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you."

My Grandma Shumm was one classy lady. She had more beautiful matching outfits than any other woman I've known. Complete with a smile on her face, she never left the house without looking like a million bucks. She was kind, giving, and independent. In her words, she was a "tough ole' bird", and I hope I'm just like her when I get to those golden years. I am so grateful I got to see her one last time before she left this world.

She had the best laugh; I will miss that most.

Aunt Jane was not only my godmother but also my friend. We shared many a long phone call on Sunday afternoons. I one day when you are single you want some family to talk with. Growing up she and Mom were so close it was like she was a 2nd mom but Pat was our other sister. Like Aunt Jane, Snook and Marietta we were the 3 muskeeters and some even thought we were all sisters - just like people

We had so many times when at Gran's or or their homes laughing ourselves sick with the funny stories they would tell us. Family is the most important thing and we have that. Rest in peace Aunt Jane and know we want some good stories when we join you again.

She was a wonderful aunt who always treated me like one of hers. I have many fond memories of summer days visiting with her and my cousin Pat as we were growing up and of course all those holiday dinners our families shared. She had a great sense of humor and would keep us all laughing with her stories.

Aunt Jane I know you are with God and may you rest peacefully now free of all pain and worry.
