Barbara J. Gilbert Seibert, 84, Hot Springs Village died on Monday July 16, 2012 while away on vacation. Barbara was born August 06, 1927 in Lincoln Park, MI to the late Arthur and Elizabeth Bekey.

Barbara married Thomas Gilbert in 1947 and became a mother of six sons and one daughter, who were the love of her life. She had a diversified working career, as a clerk in a Insurance Company, a secretary to a postmistress, closing mortgages for a local bank, a clerk for the New York Central Railroad, secretary to the director of nursing and entered the transportation industry as a motor carrier rate assessor. She retired from Chrysler Motors as a Freight Cost Control Analyst, which completed thirty-five years in the field of transportation. Barbara earned her degree in Business Administration and transportation logistics at the age of 60.

Barbara moved to Hot Springs Village in 1989 where she meet and married Louis G. Seibert in 1994.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Louis G. Seibert, one sister Wilma Woodard and her first husband Thomas Gilbert, Sr. She is survived by her six sons; Thomas M. Gilbert and his wife Mary of Riverview, MI, Timothy and his wife Janeen of Lincoln Park, MI, Michael and his wife Judi of Trenton, MI, Patrick of Hot Springs Village, AR, Anthony of Hot Springs Village, AR and Terrance and his wife Marion of Moyock, NC and one daughter, Kathleen Bugnacki and husband Robert of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, one step son Tom Seibert and wife Debbie of Hot Springs Village, AR and one step daughter Cindi Shelton, one sister; Dorothy Bekey, seven grandchildren Matthew and Nicole Bugnacki, Nicholas and Jessica Bugnacki, Elizabeth Bugnacki and Christopher Imms, David and Ashley Gilbert, John Gilbert and Amberlyn Wood , Melissa and Jessica Gilbert, Lisa Vandercook, Traci Cemeron and T.J. and Jennifer Seibert and Kyle Seibert along with thirteen great-grandchildren.

Barbara was active in Potters Clay, serving for six years on the volunteer board and chaired four of the Fall Fashion Shows and Silent Auctions that raised funds for the organization. She served six years on the volunteer board of the Mid America Science Museum, four of those years as treasurer, she was a active member of the local parish of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, serving twenty-two years as a money counter, as well as an extraordinary minister and minister to the sick and homebound and served as a Lector at Sunday and weekend Masses. She was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Guild of the ladies of Sacred Heart and was Guild Captain for five years. She was a member of the Disaster Relief Team of Sacred Heart and served as a case-worker when needed.

A Rosary will be Friday July 20, 2012 at 10:30AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with a Mass of the Resurrected following at 11:00AM with Father Bill Elser officiating.
