Barbara M. Struss, 84, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday February 2, 2011 at La Porte Hospital. She was born February 6, 1926 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Victor Schultz and Lorretta (Hensell) Schultz. Barbara had worked for LaPorte Plastic Mfg for twenty-one years, retiring in 1981. On July 8, 1952, in LaPorte, IN, she married Robert Struss who preceded her in death June 14, 2005. She is survived by her three brothers - Richard Schultz, Ronald (Kay) Schultz of Kingsford Heights, IN, Victor Schultz of La Porte, IN; four sisters - Alice (John) Proud of La Porte, IN, Jacqueline Canon of Griffith, IN, Patty (Steve) Bell of La Porte, IN, and June Wood of La Porte, IN. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, who died at birth; four sisters, Betty Reese, Judy Harrington, Wibyretta Wood, and Alberta; three brothers, Robert Schultz, Jimmy Schultz, and Jerry Schultz. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 9:30 am, until time of services .Services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday February 7, 2011 at Haverstock Funeral Home with Dr. Joseph Loftis, officiating.
