Beatrice S. Ellis

Beatrice S. Ellis 81,a resident of Atkins, formerly of Battle Creek, Michigan, died Saturday, September 8, 2007 at home, in the comfort of her beloved daughter, Monessa. She was born September 29, 1925 in Casa, and the daughter of Mona (James) and stepfather Edwin Stanley.

She was a waitress and had worked last at Jack's Bar & Grill in Urbandale, Michigan, in 1992.
On December 7, 1957, Beatrice was joined in Holy Matrimony to Frank T. Ellis Jr. in Battle Creek. Frank preceded Beatrice in death on March 2, 2007. She is survived by a son, Glenn (LuAnne) Therrien of Clawson and daughter, Monessa Caldwell of Atkins; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; father Edwin Stanley of Grand Rapids; three sisters, Judy Rothwell, Pat Piper both of Battle Creek, Gerry Jones of Glen Birney, MD; a brother, Jim Ellis of Battle Creek. She is predeceased by sisters, Katie Adams and Sue Horton and brother Jerry Jones.

The family extends special thanks to her caregiver Jeanette Beam and daughters. In addition to her husband, Beatrice is preceded in death by her mother and sons Randy Ellis and James Austin.

Beatrice was a member of Eagles Auxiliary Lodge # 299, enjoyed Bunco, loved flowers and to fish.
Entombment was at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Battle Creek, Michigan.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 Friday evening, September 21, 2007, at Shinn Funeral Service.
