Belmont Anderson

Belmont Anderson passed away due to complications of pneumonia on January 11, 2011 in Holladay, Utah. At the time of our father’s death he was surrounded by his family and was gratefully reunited with his loving sweetheart, Vivian.
He was born in Heiner, Utah, Emery County on May 9, 1927 to Ludvig and Ester Maude Grange Anderson. He married Vivian Schipper May 23, 1950 in the Manti Temple. Together they are the parents of five children: Belmont (Kathryn Baugh), Laurie (Alan) Ralphs, Jolynn, Gregory (Raylene Riggs), Jeffrey (Susan Gasser), 30 grandchildren and an ever-increasing number of great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Marylin Jean Little.
He was born a poor farm boy and a child of the depression. From those very humble beginnings he grew to a life of unusual accomplishments and work ethic in education, family and business. Yet his greatest success was in the gospel of Jesus Christ and instilling in all he met the values of life and family. He graduated from Brigham Young University where he met Vivian. Together they have been a tremendous team for good in all things. Belmont and Vivian are deeply devoted to each other. Their marriage of 60 earthly years continues on for eternity. Their children were honored to observe Belmont's love and devotion caring for their mother Vivian in her last years. She left us November 21, 2009.
He loved teaching but sacrificed that love for financial security for his family. He continued on to become a regional manager of Prudential Insurance. He retired after 48 years; working longer than any manager in the company. Two weeks after retiring he and Vivian served a mission in San Diego. He served in multiple callings in the church including Bishop of the Holladay 10th Ward.
Along the way in his life he always saw the Lord as his guide and deep inside him was a great empathy and willingness to help everyone he knew. His life is remembered as one of complete love and consideration for others. His great personality inspired others. He gave his children growing-up years of happiness, security and joy. He taught them with great wisdom and understanding and guided them in high achievements in their careers, religion, and personal lives. His legacy lives on in his posterity.
From his youth he loved and excelled in athletics, and his three sons continued on with this joy. He was a dear companion to Vivian. She is the light of his life, and loved to tell about their togetherness, always seeking to make others happy.
One cannot list all the outstanding events and accomplishments of Belmont's life, but rather his life is evident in the lives of all who knew him.
