Mr. Bennie Frances DeSmith, Jr.

Bennie was born March 1, 1932 in Kewanee, Illinios where he grew up working on a farm. He loved being around the horses and the other farm animals there. He passed away January 16, 2012 in Dallas, TX . He is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie F. DeSmith, Sr. and Josephine. Bennie is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Ola Mae DeSmith of Mesquite, TX; sister, Lucille Johnson of Quitman, TX; neices: Kim Lancaster and husband, Jamie of Baldwin, MO and Tonia Rue and husband, Jody of Ruidosa, NM; nephew, Dane Johnson and wife, Carol of Quitman, TX; great nieces: Kristen Marie Lancaster and Tobeigh Rue; great nephews: Christopher Michael Lancaster and Ryan Johnson; cousin, Willie Hargrove of Hurst, TX and special friend, Theresa Sanchez of Mesquite, TX and numerous cousins. Bennie also loved and was honored to serve as an usher at The Family Cathedral of Praise Church in Mesquite, TX. He will be dearly missed by all, including his pet dogs that he adored and owned over his many years. Celebration of life will be held 10:00 am Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Anderson/Clayton Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rod Brewer officiating.
