Bernadine Milazzo Mayer, a homemaker, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 at East Jefferson Hospital. She was 95 years old. Beloved wife of the late Jacob Mayer. Mother of Francis Mayer, of The Colony, TX, Sandra Mayer Richard (Stanley, Jr., dec.), of Metairie, LA, John Mayer, Metairie, LA, and Gerald Mayer (Nancy), of Brandon, MS and the late Jackie Mayer. Daughter of the late Ignatius and Mary Milazzo, of New Orleans, LA. Sister of Grace Milazzo Songy, of Harahan, LA, Paul Milazzo, of Gulfport, MS, and the late Philip, Peter, Joseph, Salvador, Ignatius, Anthony Milazzo, Chetta Milazzo Drewes, and Louise Milazzo Culotta. Grandmother of Dawn Gwin (Colin), of St. Rose, LA Stanley Richard, III (Cathy), of St. Rose, LA, Melanie Woodall (Aaron), of Magnolia MS, and Sherri Eakin (Chase), of Brandon, MS. Great Grandmother of Dominic and Colin Piazza, St. Rose, LA, and Abigail Richard, St. Rose, LA. She is survived by a host of relatives and friends. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Metairie, LA and was a member of Youthful Elders, and the Golden Agers for many years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
