Goddard, Bernard E., 57, of Moundsville, WV, died Monday, February 9, 2009 in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.
He was born June 20, 1951 in Paden City, WV.
Bernard was a retired employee of Bayer Material and Science and a member of Bridge St. Church of Christ, New Martinsville, WV.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Leo Goddard; paternal grandparents, Curtis and Phoebie Goddard; maternal grandparents, William and Flora Stowers.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 33 years, Ruby Greathouse Goddard; his mother, Betty Goddard of Sistersville, WV; a son, Matthew Eugene (Ashley) Goddard of Moundsville; a grandson, Cannon Matthew Goddard; three brothers, Wayne E. (Mary Ann) Goddard, Curtis Darrel (Sharon) Goddard and Fred (Sue) Goddard, all of New Martinsville; a sister, Loretta Shortridge of Texas; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 12, 2009 with Pastor Jim Higginson officiating.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
