Bernice Reeves

Pickens – Bernice Brown Reeves, 93, widow of Arvel Richard Reeves, Sr. of Pickens, passed from this life Saturday, December 10, 2011.

Mrs. Reeves was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Earl and Minnie Morgan Brown. She was retired from Mayfair Mills in Pickens and was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter Carol Jo Grant (Don) of Pickens, a son, A. Richard Reeves, Jr. (Mary) of Powdersville, grandchildren, Donald S. Grant, Jr. (Christina) of Greenville and Anna Reeves Steele (John) of Easley. Also surviving are great grandchildren Christopher Sanders Grant, Emerson Riley Steele, John Richard "Jack" Steele, III, and Miller Reeves Steele. Brothers and sisters include Grayson Brown, Gen Sentell, Merrell Brown, and Lewis Brown.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by a grandson Arvel Richard "Trey" Reeves, III and sister, Inola Rogers.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens. A private graveside service will be held.
