Bernice D. LaClair, 98, of the 1100 block of Revere Point Rd., Virginia Beach, VA, died Dec. 28, 2011. She was born in Norfolk, VA, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Myrtle Davis. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, John A. LaClair. She was a homemaker and a member of Park Place Baptist Church, a founding member of the Social Order of Beaucent of Norfolk, VA as well as other ladies Masonic groups in Norfolk. Bernice is survived by a daughter, Barbara Moore Alligood and husband Jack of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter-in-law, Patricia B. LaClair of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Charlene M. Anderson and husband Scott of Meridian, MS, John E. LaClair, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Chesapeake, VA, Jason LaClair and wife Kathleen of Arlington, VA, Gina A. McVeigh of Virginia Beach, VA, Misti A. Wheeler and husband David of Chesapeake, VA; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, John E. LaClair, Sr.; a granddaughter, Synova M. Westbrook; a brother; and three sisters. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2012, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
