Bernice Glover was born February 11, 1927 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to the late Tyler and Queenie Ellison. To that union was born 8 children. Bernice was the youngest girl in the family. All of her siblings preceded her in death. Bernice, who most people fondly knew her as "Dank", was educated in the Mississippi School's Educational System. She enjoyed telling her family about how hard it was "back then". When she spoke about those days, she always talked about her "Big Poppa" and "Big Momma". She believed that family should always stick together. While being raised in Mississippi, she met and married Jerry Walter Glover. To that union 2 girls were born. Bernice moved to St. Louis in 1954 to be with family. She accepted Christ at an early age and began working as a Dietary Assistant at Deaconess Hospital. There she became friends to a group of outstanding men and women. She retired from there after 40 years. She remained a true friend to them until her death. Bernice enjoyed sitting around the table catching up on her children's and friend's lives. She would sit there listen and smile with much interest and concern. The highlight of her days was the laughter she shared around that table. She departed this life to sit at the table with her heavenly father on January 22, 2012. She leaves to mourn her home going 2 daughters; Louella Glover and Yvonne Glover-Meeks. 10 grandchildren; Anthony, Steven, Ray, Byron, Timothy, Jacqueline, Torrian, Nikita, Keesha and Rana, 22 great-grand children, her special friend Alma Lee Meeks and a host of family and friends. Rest in peace dear mother, we loved you so much. We will miss you. This Online Memorial has been created to commemorate the life of Bernice Glover. You are invited to add a Tribute in her memory.
