Bernice Helen Grandstaff, 92, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 at Green Park Nursing home in St. Louis.
Mrs. Grandstaff was born Sept. 25, 1918 in Neelyville, Mo. She was of the Baptist faith, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Grandstaff enjoyed spending time with her family, dinning out, shopping and sewing.
In 1939, she was married to Earl E. Grandstaff. Mr. Grandstaff preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Fugel of St. Louis, Mo.; 3 grandchildren, John A. Fugel and wife Stephanie of Afton, Mo., Tracey Gossage and special friend, Steve Weiss of St. Louis, Mo. and Kevin Fugel and wife Carla of Arnold, Mo.; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Verle Pinkerton of Phoenix, Ariz., Jewell Lloyd and husband Lee of St. Louis, Mo. and Norma Cox of Poplar Bluff.
Her parents, Guy and Dora (Tate) Davidson, sister, Blanche Hefner and brother Kenneth Davidson also preceded Mrs. Grandstaff in death.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
