Bernice "Bunny" L. Towle, 89, of Wausau, passed away at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice on June 27, 2012. She was born in Milwaukee on January 9, 1923 to the late Henry and Nellie (Koss) Shoepke. Bernice married Milton Towle on October 4, 1941 in Iron River, Mich. Bernice worked at Marathon Rubber, Wisconsin Box, and at Chem-Chrome, Inc. for 25 years. She was also a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family, who above all were most important to her. Bernice liked to knit and travel in her free time. Within the past year Bernice clearly understood that her sin separated her from God; that Jesus Christ is God's gift to carry her sin away, and thus received Christ as her Savior. Today she is in his presence—forever. Bernice is survived by her husband, Milton; children, Cheryl (Errol) Cradit of Harlingen, Tex., Duayne "Butch" (Pat) of Schofield, Alan (Rosemary) of Wausau, and Kevin (Sheila) of Weston; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Arlene. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold Shoepke; and sister, Betty Hanke. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, July 2, 2012, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon. Entombment will follow the visitation in Restlawn Chapel Mausoleum, Wausau. You may sign the family guestbook at www.helke.com. The family would like to thank the staff at Kennedy Park for the good care that Bernice received.
