Bertha May CANDAUX Bert died suddenly on June 11, 2009 in Bothell, WA. She was born on October 16, 1947 in Tarentum, PA to William C VanThiel and Helen L. Van Thiel. She grew up in Clarkston, WA where she lettered in several sports. She moved to the Seattle area in the mid seventies and worked for Kenworth Truck Company, a PACCAR Company. She retired from Kenworth after 28 years of service in 2005. Retirement included homes in Bothell, WA and Yuma, AZ. Travel included US destinations as well as cruises to Europe, Sydney to Bangkok and through the Panama Canal. Among Bert's passions was always trying to make the yard look better and painting Southwest dessert scenes. Bert is survived by her husband, Michael Candaux, daughter Deirdre (Marvin) Gill and son Scott (Jeannie) Purviance. Grandsons Nathan and Daniel Gill and Cooper Purviance. Also, one aunt, numerous cousins and many friends.
