Bertha Walker Ward, 101, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, November 17, 2011. She is survived by her niece, Cheryl McEwen of Gallup, NM; nephew, Kip Walker of Alamosa, CO; niece, Lynda G Mertes of Los Lunas, NM; and niece, Barbara A Quinn of Carmel Valley, CA. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walker and her husband, J Richard Ward. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Bertha and J Richard were members of Covenant Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held on December 3, 2011, 1:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. Interment of her urn will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
