Betty B. Smith March 1, 1927 - December 17, 2011 Betty Bradford Smith of Waco passed away peacefully Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Providence Hospital. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Milton Cunningham officiating. A private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Betty was born March 1, 1927 in Corsicana, Texas to W. J. and Jesse Bradford. She was married to David F. Smith, Jr. for 63 years. Betty taught in the Waco schools for 36 years. Her first teaching experience was at a ranch school in Navarro County at the age of 16. She attended Corsicana Schools and graduated from Baylor University. Betty was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. J. and Jesse Bradford and infant grandson, Alex Smith. She is survived by husband, David F. Smith, Jr., Waco, TX; one brother, Billy Bradford, Corsicana, TX; two sons, David B. Smith and wife Karen, Dripping Springs, TX; Bill Smith and wife Connie, Waco, TX Six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
