Betty Jean Porter Pryor, 74, of 241 West Wood Street, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 29, 1933, in Cleveland County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Phillip and Thelma Mae Boheler Porter. She was a longtime employee of Butte Knit and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband of over 55 years, George Pinckney Pryor, Jr.; a daughter, Karen P. Vise and her husband Kennon of Spartanburg; a son, Reggie Pryor and his wife Rene' of Inman; a son-in-law, Eddie Gibbs of Boiling Springs; a brother, John Porter and his wife Shirley of Boiling Springs; four grandchildren, Kennon P. Vise and his wife Mitzi G., Kristen V. Cooper and her husband Ray, Reggie Pryor, Jr., and Chase Gibbs; three great-grandchildren, Christian Vise, Cameron Vise, and Zoey Cooper; two nephews, John Porter and Rodney Porter; and a special family friend, Linda Dogan. She was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Pryor Gibbs; and a niece, Carol Snow.

Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2007, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2007, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel conducted by the Rev. Frank Bryant and the Rev. Glenn Rusher. Entombment will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of her son, Reggie Pryor, 151 Watercrest Drive, Inman.
