Betty L. Menhennick, 92, of Marquette, died Monday morning, October 3, 2011 at Mill Creek Assisted Living, with her family by her side and under the care of UP Home Health & Hospice. She was born October 18, 1918, in Negaunee, to the late James V. and Caroline (Anderson) Conradsen. She attended and was a 1936 graduate of Negaunee High School. On June 19, 1948 she married William J. Menhennick, Sr. in Marquette and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2011. Betty was employed for several years as a secretary at the former Chocolay Township Schools. She was a member of St. Louis the King Catholic Church and the Harvey Homemakers. She volunteered at Bay Cliff Health Camp and was involved with the Telephone Pioneers of America with her husband, Bill. Betty enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, cooking and baking. She will always be thought of as The Traditional Homemaker. Betty is survived by her children, William J. (Beth) Menhennick, Jr. of Zeeland, MI, Susan Menhennick of Marquette and Mary (Gerald) Dudek of Cadillac, MI; grandchildren, Pamela (Jeffrey) Jenkins of Lansing, Sara (Carl Long) Bicker of Virginia and Kathryn Dudek of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandchild, Ty Jenkins of Lansing and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 5 siblings. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at St. Louis the King Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in the church with Rev. Benedetto Paris Officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Louis the King Altar Society. The Canale-Tonella Funeral Home is assisting the family where memories may be shared at www.canalefuneral.com
