Mrs. Betty L. Stach, 84, of 14419 Walnut Loop Rd. Greencastle, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 17, 2011, after an extended illness. She was born September 18, 1927 in Waynesboro, PA, to the late Samuel and Josephine (Carbaugh) Staley. Mrs. Stach, graduated from Quincy High School in 1945. She married Casimer J. Stach, in Hagerstown, MD in 1948. She was a member of the local AARP, She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband before he passed away on April 2, 1986. Her greatest joy came from taking care of her family and her home. She is survived by one son, Samuel C. Stach, and his wife, Eleanor, Waynesboro; one daughter, Nancy L. Stottlemyer, and her husband, James, Waynesboro; three grandchildren, David Stach, Waynesboro, Erin Paget, CA, and Donovan Streeper, Chambersburg, 2 great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Alyssa Stach, both of Waynesboro and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Casimer J. Stach, and one brother, Clark Staley. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 21, 2011 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro, with the Revs. Dr. Gerald Carbaugh and Linda Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Strang Cemetery, South Mountain. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
