Mrs. Betty M. (Woodman) Chubbuck, a Tewksbury resident and formerly longtime of Melrose, passed away at home surrounded by family, on Sunday evening December 4, 2011, at the age of 72.
Betty was born on December 23, 1938 in Malden, one of three children of the late Harold D. Woodman and May K. (Hoag) Woodman. She was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School. After raising her three children, Betty worked in banking for many years. She worked as a teller for the Malden Savings Bank in Malden and as the Assistant Manager at the Bank for Savings in Malden. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. During her spare time she loved to read novels.
Beloved wife of Clifford G. "Cliff" Chubbuck with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Susan J. Rhodes of Tewksbury, Andrew C. Chubbuck, Sr. and his wife Lyn of Derry, NH, and Meg A. Williams and her husband Rich of Lowell. Dear sister of James D. Woodman of CA and Phyllis Tonks of Wilmington. Cherished grandmother of Andrew C. Chubbuck Jr. of SC, Joseph A. Chubbuck of Derry, NH, Robert G. Chubbuck of Derry, NH, Emily E. Williams of Lowell and Olivia M. Williams of Lowell. Loving great-grandmother of Ariele and Anna Chubbuck, both of SC. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Betty's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday, December 7 from 4-8 PM and again on Thursday morning where her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10 AM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
