Betty M. Hughes

Betty M. Hughes, 88, of North Kansas City, MO passed away Tuesday January 3, 2012.
Born August 22, 1923 in St. Louis, MO to Wesley and Marie Ferguson. Betty and her family moved to the KC area just prior to WWII where she attended Westport High School. Betty helped during the war effort by working at the bomber plant in Fairfax. She married Vern Burns in 1943 and had her first child, Cheri. In 1949, Betty married her second husband, Glenn and to that marriage they had, John and Janice. Betty loved to garden and raise African Violets.
Survivors include her 3 children, John (Sandra), Janice, Cheri; a sister, Laverne Potter; 7 grandkids; and 6 great grandchildren.
