Betty Sue Sweet, 82, of Russellville, died Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born June 12, 1930, at Russellville, to Preston Julius and Velma Ester Harris Brock. She worked at the Pope County Sheriff's Department for over 22 years, and retired as the dietitian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved daughter, Yvonne Sue Sweet; a sister, Delois Bowden; and a brother, Charles Brock.
Survivors include three sons, Kermit Sweet of Russellville, Randy Sweet and his wife, Kim, of Houston, Texas, and Joe Sweet and his wife, Aimee, of Graniteville, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Rowdy Sweet and his wife, Nicole, and Mandy Sweet Darter, all of Atkins, Kirby Leigh Sweet, Kelsey Anne Sweet, and Gracie Sue Sweet, all of Houston, and Lauren Sweet, Madison Sweet and Kayla Sweet, all of Graniteville; and three great-grandchildren, Parker Sweet, Lily Sweet and Alexandra (Ally) Darter, all of Atkins.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Paul Northcutt. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1905.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, from 5-6 p.m., at the funeral home.
