Beverly Jean Funk, 73, passed into the care of our Lord on December 31, 2011 at Newmark Care Center in Kansas City, MO. Bev was born in Omaha, NE on January 25, 1938 to Edmond and Irene Lowe. She lived most of her early childhood with her Aunt Lenore near Plattsmouth, NE at the age of seven she moved with her family to Paxton; NE. Bev was united in marriage with Edward Funk on September 5, 1959. She served in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, and later worked as a nurse at the Sutherland Hospital in Nebraska. She also drove a school bus for 23 years transporting handicapped children to the Maple Valley State School. She was preceded in death by her mother Irene Owen, her step-father John Owen, daughter Joyce and grandson Chad Blust. Survived by her husband Ed of the home, daughter Vicki Blust and husband Ray, Sheri Stewart and partner Kirk Camoriano, and son Larry Funk. 4 grandchildren Matthew, Alexa, Lindsey, and Hunter. Siblings Charles Lowe(Betty) of Murrieta, CA, Larry Lowe(Sally) of Roseville, CA, Faye Veloz(Robert) of Las Vegas, NV, and JR Owen of Jacksonville, FL. A Celebration of life will be held at 10:30am Thursday January5, 2012 at DW Newcomer's White Chapel, with visitation 30 minutes prior to the service.
