Dummerston- Beverly M. Wood, 80, of Wickopee Hill Road died Saturday afternoon, August 27, 2011 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. following a period of declining health. Since April 2007, she made her home with her daughter Annie and family on Woody's Drive in Dummerston. Mrs. Wood was born on January 19, 1921 in Hinsdale, NH, the daughter of Philip and Elizabeth (St John) Cote. She was raised and educated in Hinsdale and had attended Hinsdale High School. Mrs. Wood had been employed at the Holstein-Friesian Association in Brattleboro where she retired from after many faithful years with the company. Previously she graded apples for Miller Orchards in Dummerston. Mrs. Wood was also a devoted homemaker whose life centered around her family and she especially enjoyed family gatherings. Of her other leisure time activities, she liked to play BINGO, work in her flower gardens, animals, knitting, crocheting and most recently time spent at the Gathering Place on Terrace Street. On August 13, 1949 in Brattleboro she was married to Harold A. Wood. Her husband of 59 years predeceased her on June 29, 2009. Survivors include four sons, Harold, Jr., Robert, Donald and Bernard; three daughters, Ann Knapp, Shirley Renaud, and Leslie Wood, one brother, John Cote of Ashuelot, N.H., 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery on Orchard Street where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Friends are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 P.M.
