Beverly R. Burch, 79, of Marquette, passed away early Thursday morning, January 5, 2012 at her home in the presence of her loving family, friends and the caregivers of U.P. Home Health and Hospice. Beverly was born on July 8, 1932 in Marquette, a daughter of the late Bill and Yvonne (Lessard) Normand and was a lifelong area resident. Bev worked in the Wildcat Den at NMU for 23 years. She was a former member of the Marquette Golf Club where she played in the women's league. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Marquette Elks Lodge #405, the Red Hat Society, St. Michael Catholic Church, and the Marquette Cribbage League. In her free time, Bev enjoyed sewing heart pillows and Christmas socks for Marquette General Hospital and also made tray favors for the MGH Auxiliary. Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne (David) Richard of Marquette; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Bigger of Marquette five grandchildren, Corrie LaCombe, Ryan Richard, Casey Hanford, Robert Hanford III, and Sonna Hanford; six great grandchildren, Kimberly Johnson, Alexis LaCombe, Hailee LaCombe, Jordan Benz, Colton Hartz, and Colton Richard; two brothers-in-law, Frank Sciotto and Skip Matson; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her parents was her first husband, Robert Hanford and second husband, Edward P. Burch on November 30, 2008; a son, Robert "B-Bob" Hanford, Jr. on August 6, 2006; daughter, Debra Paquette on January 21, 2011; four siblings, Joan Sciotto, Barbara Hanford, Shirley Matson, and William Normand. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 12:00 noon in St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. Nicholas Thompson officiating. Spring burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the church.
