George William Bruett, the son of Henry and Mary (Locey) Bruett, was born December 18, 1926, at Lake Park, Iowa. He passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at his home in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 78 years.

He received his education in the Excelsor schools graduating from Excelsor High School.

On September 2, 1945, he was united in marriage to Gladys Mae Smith in Estherville. After their marriage, the couple lived in Spencer and Bill was employed at H&N Chevrolet and later 7up Bottling Company. In 1960, they moved to Estherville, where he was employed at Estherville Creamery and Motor Inn. Bill later owned and operated Bruett's Body Shop. After his retirement, Bill worked at Welding Supply. For hobbies, Bill enjoyed golfing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Riverview Golf Course both of Estherville.

Left to cherish Bill's memory is his wife, Gladys; children, Mike Bruett; Becky Dodge and her husband, Dennis; Susan Rink and her husband, John; Mary Hobmeier and her husband, Harry all of Estherville; Tammy Hoffman and her husband, Darrell of Spencer, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert Bruett and his wife, Arlis of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and his sister LaBerta Andre of Estherville.

He has been preceded in death by his parents.
