Billy E. Garrett, 81, of Bryant, Arkansas, died Sunday, September 11, 2011, at the SMH Hospice Facility. He was born September 30, 1929, in Springfield, Missouri, a son of the late Chester and Della (Briggs) Garrett. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Billy was a United States Army Veteran with the 82nd Airborne, was a paratrooper and extremely proud of his service. He worked side by side with his brother for well over 40 years as a carpenter with McDade Builders in Little Rock. He loved the Benton stock car races and enjoyed working on cars himself. Bill was a Christian.
Survivors are his wife, Janet (Moore) Garrett of Rogers, Arkansas; his daughter, Linda Matthew of Bryant; his brothers, Thomas and Edward Garrett; and granddaughters, Megan and Katie Matthew.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Spring Valley Cemetery, at Ferndale, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. 501-661-9111.
