Hattaway, Billy Harrison, 71, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2011 at the Robert J. Dole VA Hospice Unit in Wichita, KS. He was born on March 24, 1940 in Elba, Alabama to his parents, O'Neal and Louise (Whitten) Hattaway, the oldest of 4. Billy served in the Army for a short term. In 1975, he married Wanda in Saltillo, MS. He retired as a Trailer Mechanic in 1988. He could build anything with his hands. Billy was well liked and he especially enjoyed little kids. He was an avid football fan, especially Alabama Crimson Tide. He was preceded in death by his parents. Billy is survived by his wife of 36 years, Wanda and their son, Timothy Hattaway of Augusta, KS; 3 children from a previous marriage, Sandra Tolbert of Florala, AL, Kenneth Hattaway of Opp, AL, Roxanne Stinson of Opp, AL; siblings, Jackie Richardson, Barbara Ivey, James Hattaway, all of Elba, AL; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Tuesday, 5 – 8 pm. Funeral: 1 pm, Wednesday, both at Lakeview Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Green Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice Care, 2733 West Central Ave. Suite D, El Dorado, KS 67042.
