Billy J. Ross, age 78 of Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2011. He was born in Waveland, Arkansas on November 18, 1932. He was employed for Arkansas Power and Light for 45 years and was known as "Friend" to the Primitive Baptist Churches of Central Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Amanda Juanell Ross. He is survived by his two children, Sharon Ross Miller (Don) of Beebe, AR and Billy J. Ross, Jr. of Maumelle, AR; four grandchildren, Jennifer Webb (Shanon) of Floyd, AR, Jonathan Miller of Beebe, AR, Victoria Ross of Conway, AR and Taylor Ross of Maumelle, AR; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Titus Webb; one brother Bob Ross (Lynn) of Kansas City, MO; a sister in law Kaye Ross of Little Rock, AR and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He loved the Lord with all his heart. He had a servant's heart, always putting others first. He cared for people and was well-respected in the workplace and community. He enjoyed "piddling", working around the house, watching football and reading the Bible.
Graveside services will be 10:00am Friday, November 11, 2011 at Forest Hills Memorial Park. A visitation will be on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, AR (501) 455-1067.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Fullers Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in care of Jim Tolliver for the building fund, 5910 Tolliver Lane, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72118.
