BILLY JUNIOR SKEENS

Billy Junior Skeens, 85, formerly of Ittman, WV, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Pinelodge Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born at Killarney, WV he was the son of the late Ira and Lula Akers Skeens.
Mr. Skeens graduated from Stoco High School and obtained a business degree from Beckley College. He worked for years at Semet-Solvay in Tralee, WV and was a retired Lab Tech from A.T. Massey Coal Company. Bill was a devoted Christian and a member of the Bud Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the choir for years. He was truly an inspiration to his entire family who will always remember his love, kindness, and generosity.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Skeens; a sister, Carol June Skeens; a brother, Robert Virgil Skeens; and his mother and father-in-law, Millie and Essie Kemp.
Survivors who will cherish his memory include his son, Michael Skeens and wife, Debbie of Beckley, WV; two grandsons, Christopher Skeens and wife, Angie of Basin, WV and Chad Skeens and wife, Amy of Pax, WV; four great-grandchildren, Brennan, Isabella, Angela, and Hunter Skeens; a sister, Norma Lambert and husband, Jim of Clearfield, KY; two brothers, Frank Skeens of Clearfield, KY and Elmer Skeens of Bluefield, WV; a special friend, Ellen Jack Bailey Lusk.
Graveside rites will be conducted 2:00PM Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley with Rev. Paul Lusk officiating. Following the services Mr. Skeens will be laid to rest beside his wife, Betty.
