Billy W. Flurry, 67 of Hot Springs, went to rest on August 29, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Born January 15, 1944, in Jena, LA., to Doyle & Lucille Malone Flurry he made his residence in Hot Springs in 1987.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harold Flurry and brother-in-law Stanley Gee.

Billy was a graduate of SAU and worked for almost 15 years at NPCC, he also worked as a safety engineer at Willamette for about 10 years, and was the owner of Dorothy's Parking Lots and BW Flurry Investments. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt & fish. Some of the favorite times of his life were spending time at his farm in Story, AR. with family & friends. He also loved LSU Sports and loved to watch NASCAR with Staton.

Survivors include wife, Dorothy Gee Flurry of Hot Springs; son, Staton Clark Flurry of Hot Springs; son & daughter-in-law William Lynn & Carla Lee Flurry of Baton Rouge, LA; granddaughter, Allison Flurry of Baton Rouge, LA.; brothers, Bobby & wife Judy of Natchez, MS.; James & wife Patricia Flurry of Shreveport, LA .and Charles & wife Bonnie Flurry of Magnolia, AR. He is also survived by his Mother-in-law Mary Brown Birdsong & husband Marvin Birdsong; sister & brother-in-law Sandy & Charles Nelson; sister-in-law, Kass Gee and many nieces & nephews.

Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Gross Funeral Home. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Gross Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Carter & Pastor J.B. Evans officiating.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Wallace, James Stone, Chuck Flurry, Gerald Lammers, Gene Johnson, Clay Steele, Sawyer Stone, Charles Nelson & Jim Morgan.

Honorary pallbearers are staff of St. Joseph Mercy ICU, cafeteria staff of St. Joseph's, Dr. Ron Kaler, Dr. Michael Frais, the Bodeman Clinic, Dr. David DeSoto, Pulmonary Dr's of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Dr. Sally Carder, NPCC Staff and the Shawn Curtis family of Story, AR.
