BMCS Grego Allen Jewett, USN, retired, 59, of the 2600 block of Plumlee Dr., Chesapeake, VA, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at a local hospital. Born in Concord, NH, to the late Vernon and Mitzy Jewett, Grego retired as a Senior Chief Diver from the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife, Lynda Hogmire Jewett; three daughters, Ginna Bruce, Laurie Doughtie and husband John, and Beth James; a sister, Linda Poupore and husband Ron; two brothers, Vernon Robert Jewett and wife Linda, and Steven Curtis Jewett and wife Robin; and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:45 p.m. on Monday at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel. Burial will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
