Services for Bobby G. Davis, 73, of Henderson will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Henderson with Rev. Tommy Marshall and Rev. James Paul Latham officiating. Burial will follow at Lyles-Sanders Cemetery in South Rusk County under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Henderson.

Mr. Davis passed away on February 7, 2009 surrounded by his loving family, friends and under the care of Angel Care Hospice. He was born June 4, 1935 to his parents, Apton and Lovera Davis, in Nacogdoches County, Texas.

Bobby G. Davis will be remembered for his many years in the banking industry beginning with First National Bank of Henderson, May 2, 1958. First National Bank later became Republic Bank, Dallas, then NCNB and finally Nations Bank. He worked in all capacities of the four banks until retiring January 3, 1990. Two days later, Mr. W. C. George hired him as President, CEO and member of the Board of Directors of Texas Bank, Tatum which later became Texas Bank, Henderson. In 2001, Mr. Davis became Vice Chairman of the bank. On May 2, 2008 Mr. Davis celebrated 50 years of banking, 32 years with the group of banks he started with and 18 years with Texas Bank, Henderson, all of which was served in Henderson, Rusk County, Texas. A graduate of SMU's Southwest Graduate School of Banking in Dallas, his banking philosophy was "to help and enjoy" working with customers of the bank.

Mr. Davis was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church Crims Chapel, and he will also be remembered for his service in many civic and community organizations. He was a loving husband, father, Paw-Paw and uncle and loved taking care of his family, friends co-workers and cows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Apton and Lovera Davis and a sister, Jeanette Tallant.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Martha Jo; two daughters; Kathy Jackson of Henderson, Debra Poole and husband Johnny of Henderson. Grandchildren; David Jackson and wife Cassie of Henderson, Brandon Jackson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Keith Poole and wife Amber of Henderson and Melissa Poole of Snook, Texas. Two great grandchildren; Hayden Jackson and Bailey Poole both of Henderson. Also, one sister; Janelle Sitton and husband Billy of Henderson, two brothers, Major C. Davis and wife Carolyn of Tomball, Texas, and Jack W. Davis and wife Judy of Austin, Texas, brother-in-law Max Tallant of Cushing, Texas and many neices and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Troy Williams, Dr. Billy Irwin, Richard Segura, Scotty Cawthon, Bill Reddin, Andy Vinson, Gene McCauley, Rick Tucker and Greg Leleux. Honorary pallbearers: W. C. George, Paul Morris, Ken Sabella, Dean Bingham, Charles Lee, Ron Adkison, Robert Shipley, Joe Taylor, David Comtee and Employees of Texas Bank, Henderson.
