IRVIN, BOBBYE Born September 26, 1924 in Dallas, TX and passed away February 1, 2012 in Plano, TX. Bobbye is survived by her husband, Barlow Irvin, Jr.; sons, Barlow Irvin III, and Barry Irvin; daughter, Sherry Ruckman; five grandchildren, Brittany Henderson, Alexandra and Alana Irvin, Chris and Lee Ruckman; and two great grandchildren, Luke Henderson and Marin Ruckman. Bobbye grew up in San Angelo, TX before becoming a world traveler and then moving back to Dallas in 1958. She was a graduate of Southern Methodist University and received her Master Degree at North Texas University. She was a history teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School and professor at Brookhaven Community College. A devout Christian she was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Prestonwood Baptist Church, and Stonebriar Church. Bobbye was instrumental in the formation of Stonebriar's Cancer Support Group. The family would like to thank the doctors, staff, and care providers who cared and gave support to Bobbye during her final years. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 5th from 2:00-4:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., in Dallas. Services will be held Monday, February 6th at 11:00 AM at Restland Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
