Born on March 24th, 1945, Mrs. Bonnie Sue Gerhard went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 1st, 2009. Her family was gathered by her bedside in prayer and fellowship. Bonnie has been loved for 39 years by her husband George Gerhard. They have three children, Bobby, David (children, Christina, David and Victoria, and one great grandchild Keyshawn) and Johnny and wife Lisa (children, Markus, Jonathan, and Dylan). She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Donald Bennett, her Irish twin, Lou Ann Bennett, David Bennett (Louise) Virginia Lang (Les) and Mary O'Connor. Mary's daughter Ninamae has been a granddaughter to Bonnie. Bonnie loved traveling with her sisters and family, she was also an avid garage sale shopper. Employed by BBN Technologies, Mrs. Gerhard had many close friends during her 29 year tenure. She will be greatly missed by her colleagues and friends. Her other great joy was her activities with her church family. Bonnie was active in the church as a member of The Women of Purpose. She built strong relationships serving the Lord and the members of her church community. Bonnie was also a strong force in Kairos Outside; an organization that ministers to women who have incarcerated loved ones. The family will receive friends at the Oakton Baptist Church, 14001 Sullyfield Circle, Chantilly, VA 20151 on Friday, September 4, 2009 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers her family requests that donations be made to a cancer research center of your choosing or The Oakton Baptist Church of Chantilly.
