West Townshend- Brenda J. Wilkins, 65, of Winslow Drive in West Townshend passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Grafton, Vermont on October 23, 1945 the daughter of Lyle and Victoria (Duby) Fletcher. Brenda spent her childhood in Grafton and on December 25, 1965 she was married to Warren Wilkins, Sr. in Grafton. Their marriage remained strong for 45 years. Brenda enjoyed playing BINGO at the Masonic Lodge in Jamaica and at the Newbrook Fire Dept. in Newfane. She was especially passionate about her grandchildren and took great pride in watching them come of age. Brenda is survived by her husband Warren of West Townshend, as well as her three children, Warren Wilkins, Jr, and his wife Michelle and their children Zachary and Miranda, daughter Regina Donna and her husband Greg, and their children Travis, Joshua and Gabrielle, and daughter Melissa Buffum and husband Jeff, and children Hunter, Haley and Hannah, all of whom currently reside in Jamaica. She also leaves her mother Victoria Fletcher of Saxtons River, sisters, Dianne Smith and husband James of Cambridgeport, Linda Furgat and husband Mike, and Marcia Furgat and husband Ed, and brothers Francis Fletcher and wife Linda, and Mike Fletcher and wife Lisa, all of Saxtons River, and Steven "Pete" Fletcher and wife Toni of Norton, Vermont. Additionally she leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Lyle Fletcher, Sr., brother Lyle Fletcher, Jr., and sister Judy Bemis. A memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, September 10'Th at 2:00 P.M. at the home of her son Warren in Jamaica. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to, Grace Cottage Hospital, Route 35, Townshend, Vermont 05353, attn: Dr. Robert W. Backus.
