Mrs. Brenda K. (Welsh) Baker, 59, of 8736 Windy Hill Road, Waynesboro, died at 10:35 A.M., Monday, November 21, 2011, in the Waynesboro Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past week. Born July 22, 1952 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Rethea (Moats) Welsh. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Mrs. Baker was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School. She and her husband, the late Herbert E. "Herbie" Baker, Jr., were married on April 14, 1971 in Beaver Creek, MD. They moved to the homestead in 1973. Mr. Baker died on July 1, 2006. In her early life, Mrs. Baker worked at the South Mountain Restoration Center in South Mountain, PA. She later worked for Knouse Foods in Biglerville, PA and various other companies. She enjoyed life and spending time with her family. She is survived by one daughter, Eugena L. Kauffman of Waynesboro; one son, Herbert E. Baker, III of Mont Alto, PA; five granddaughters, Kimberly Creager, Rethea Kraiss, Sara Forney, Cheyenne Baker, and Karranne Kauffman; one grandson, Toby Forney; four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Timothy Welsh and Ronald "Sonny" Welsh, both of Waynesboro; four sisters, Betty Sites, Bernice Koons, Claudia Tallent, and Darlene Dupont, all of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, C. Rodney Welsh; and two sisters, G. Jayne Kauffman and Ruby Wagaman. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 25, 2011 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Greg Helman, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Friday morning, in the funeral home.
