Bruce Beam Jr., 65, of 876 McCann's Run Road, Jane Lew died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at his residence, following a brief illness. He was born August 23, 1947 in Copen, Braxton County, a son of the late Bruce Giles and Nancy Rae Smith Beam. On April 17, 1965 he married the former Beverly Bevilock who survives. Also surviving are two sons: Patrick Scott Beam and wife Jackie of Bridgeport and Bryan Todd Beam and wife Pam of Weston; one daughter, Christel Lynn Starkey and husband Scott of Jane Lew; one brother, Timothy Beam of Jane Lew; three sisters: Penelope McCormick of Jane Lew, Theresa Wilburn of Burnsville and Katrina Roh of Lynchburg, Va.; six grandchildren: Corrie, Brooke, Lexi, Fallyn, Cole and Tucker; and mother-in-law, Lewie Mae Clevenger of Jane Lew. He was preceded in death by one brother, Patrick Harlen Beam and his father-in-law, Kester Clevenger. Bruce was a self-employed businessman, member of the McCann's Run United Methodist Church and veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. Bruce has chosen cremation and his family will hold a private burial service.
