Funeral Notice for Sunday, April 18, 2010 and Monday, April 19, 2010
Calvin Maddox 82, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Columbus Regional Medical Center. Services for Mr. Maddox will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Vance-Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverends Udell Addison and Gary Richardson Officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, April 19, 2010 from 6:00-8:00P.M. EST at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home 4048 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Mr. Calvin Maddox was born August 24, 1927 in Panthersville, Georgia to the late Luther Paul and Mary Jane Smith Savell Maddox. Mr. Maddox is also preceded in death by his first wife Ruby Clyde Cross Maddox, daughters Pamela Maddox Strickland and Andrea Leah Crowson Luttrell. Mr. Maddox worked at Swift Mills then went to work at Martin Army Hospital as a civil service electrician where he retired after thirty two years of dedicated service.Mr. Maddox enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.Mr Maddox is a World War II Navy Veteran and was scheduled to go on the Next Honor Flight. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and attended United Baptist Church of Phenix City, Alabama.
Mr. Maddox is survived by his wife of twenty one years Mary Celia Crowson Maddox, three daughters Deborah Gale Maddox Richter of Atlanta, Georgia, Ruth Elaine Maddox Pudzis
and husband Steve of Gainesville, Georgia and Pamela C. O’Brien and husband Ralph of Smiths Station, Alabama. Two sons David Lincoln Crowson and wife Cathy of Phenix City, Alabama and John Alan Crowson of Phenix City, Alabama, Six grandsons and one granddaughter and numerous great grandchildren.
Mr. Calvin Maddox was a friend to many and enemy of none and will be greatly missed.
