Caridad Fernandez went home to be with Our Lord on September 22, 2011. Through her struggle with reoccurring cancers her faith was unwavering. She was born in Havana, Cuba on September 8, 1934. Cary resided in Brooklyn, New York, Fair Lawn, New Jersey, and Pembroke Pines, Florida. She was employed by the Lipton Tea Company in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. Cary had many family members and friends who enjoyed her kind and friendly spirit and beautiful smile. Cary leaves behind her beloved husband of 56 years, Arturo Fernandez. Her sons Arthur and George, grandsons Arthur, Nicholas, and Brian and granddaughter Michelle will greatly miss her tremendous love and care for them. Cary also leaves three great grandchildren Gavin, Brielle and Riley and her daughter-in-law Diane.

She is preceded in death by her sister Mirta, and parents Jesus and Graciela Canellada.
Services will be held at the Caballero Rivero Woodlawn funeral home – Miami Chapel on Wednesday and Thursday. Donations can be made to the New York Cuban Lions club in her name.
