October 1, 1925 – December 26, 2011

Carl Walter Nelson, 86, of Huntsville passed away Monday at his daughter's residence. Mr. Nelson is a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne Nelson. Mr. Nelson is a member of Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church and was an avid bowler.
Mr. Nelson is survived by his daughter, Sandra Nall and her husband, James Terry of Meridianville; son, Dan Nelson of Minnesota; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held Friday at 12:00pm at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church with Father Joy Chalissery officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00am until 12:00pm at the church. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice.
