Carla Denise Russell age 47 of Dallas, Texas transcended from this life and entered the gates of heaven on Thursday evening December 8, 2011. Surreal is the reality that Carla's vitality and enthusiasm, style and sassy personality, love and happiness now vacates our presence but will also never depart our memory.

Carla Denise Russell was born to the late Lozel Russell and Eloise Russell on March 10, 1964. Being a lifelong Dallas resident, Carla was a graduate of Skyline High School, attended college and became an established stylist and successful business owner in her community where she earned an incredible loyal following as well as the respect of her colleagues. Carla has been a member of Lighthouse Church of God in Christ since her childhood.

The love, care, dedication and courage shown throughout the life of her children, Kandace and Chris, were matchless. Carla was extremely proud of her grandchildren. Her love and unwavering devotion to them was contagious. They gave her so much joy! Extraordinary was the special relationship Carla had with her mother – her best friend Eloise. It was simply priceless! Carla's nurturing spirit touched and transformed many lives. It was not inclusive to just her children and grandchildren but was demonstrated in her becoming a surrogate mom to others.

Carla was preceded in death by her father, Lozel Russell Sr; one brother, Lozel Russell Jr.; paternal grandparents; maternal grandfather. Her legacy and fond memories will be cherished by those remaining. Her mother, Eloise Russell, Dallas, TX; one daughter, Kandace Russell, Austin, TX; one son, Christopher (Tia) Russell, Travelers Rest, SC; three brothers, Ronnie Epperson, Kenneth (Debra) Epperson and Greg Russell, all of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Vickie Horton and Cookie Russell; maternal grandparents, Mae Johnson (Ross); beautiful grandchildren, Madison and Emily; and a host of other relatives, clients, friends and the Lighthouse Family.
