Carlyle Marie Berglund, 94, of Marquette, passed away early Thursday morning, August 11, 2011 at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee. Mrs. Berglund was born on October 21, 1916 in Marquette, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Pearl (Smail) Jandron. She was a 1934 graduate of Graveraet High School. Carlyle was previously employed at the former Carroll Motor Supply and Wisconsin Bearing Company. She was a former Lady Elk and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Nancy (Tessier) Berglund of Gwinn; one grandson, Jason (Leann) Berglund of Phoenix, AZ; one great granddaughter, Taylor Berglund; also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Berglund on December 25, 1993; two sons, W. Dale Berglund on December 9, 2004 and Barry Berglund on August 21, 1979; a brother, Alphonse Jandron and two sisters, Arbutus Fogerty and Dorothy Lancour. Visitation will be at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of the Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Frank Lenz officiating. Burial will take place in the Park Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are kindly asked to consider the Eastwood Nursing Center Activity Fund, 900 Maas St., Negaunee, MI 49866 in Mrs. Berglund's memory. Carlyle's family would like to thank the Eastwood Nursing Center staff for their exceptional care of her for over 13 years.
