Carol D. Clark, 91, formerly of La Porte, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones surrounding her at 5:10 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 in St. Louis, Missouri. Carol was born on May 14, 1919, to Albert and Lilah (Russell) Moss, at the family home on 900 N in Galena Township. Carol married Frederick (Fred) Clark and together had three children, Bob, Roger (Roddy) and Gina. During WWII Carol worked at the La Porte Corporation as a riveter assembling stabilizers for the B-26 and fins for the B-24 and B-26 bombers. In addition to being a homemaker and raising the children, Carol also worked a LaLumiere School and retired from Gateway Industries in Michigan City. Once retired Carol moved to St. Louis and made her home with Gina and her husband Ralph Bicknese. Carol's family includes daughter Gina and husband Ralph Bicknese of St. Louis; son Bob Clark and wife Linda of Trenton, MO; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Carol's family members who have gone on before her include parents Albert and Lilah Moss, son Roddy, and brother Russell (Duck) Moss. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Saturday March 26, 2011 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. A celebration honoring Carol's life will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Carol will then rest with her family at Heckman Cemetery in Galena Township.
