Caroline Dunst, 80, of Wausau passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Service at Wellington Place, Rib Mountain. She was born August 16, 1930 to the late Henry and Theresa (Joswick) Gorski. On September 10, 1955, Carol married Lyle Dunst at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Carol and Lyle were long time members of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Along with their children, Todd and Cynthia, they enjoyed traveling and camping all over the United States. Carol was a compassionate caregiver who always put the needs of her family ahead of her own. She devoted her life to her family, and took immense pride in being a stay-at-home mom. Nothing was more important to Carol than her children, her role as a mother and sharing the special joys of parenthood with those close to her. Carol also loved animals, especially her dog, Daisy, who was her constant companion during the later years of her life. Carol was a gifted seamstress as well, making clothes for her children that were always in style. Survivors include her son, Todd (Cindy) Dunst of Oak Creek, her daughter, Cynthia Hein of Wausau, four grandchildren, Brooke Voigt, Lance Hein, Hannah and Hallie Dunst, great grandson, Scottie Voigt, her sister, Judy (Rick) Howe of Minocqua, sister-in-law, Kathy Gorski of Schofield and brother-in-law, Robert Stefonek of Rhinelander. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, a brother, Robert Gorski and sister, Betty Stefonek. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Wausau. Father James Schaefer will officiate. Entombment will be in Holy Angels Mausoleum at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
